Fall Conference Event Highlights

Keynote Luncheon: "Secrets of Social Networking"
presented by Matthew Ferrara

( 2 Elective CE Hours* )

BarCamp's companion event – the Indiana Association of REALTORS® annual Fall Conference – has a lot to offer including a special keynote luncheon the same day as BarCamp.  Matthew Ferrara will present his “Secrets of Social Networking”.  Those eligible will receive 2 hours of elective CE.

Secrets of Social Networking can help agents, managers and staff unlock the relationship-building, marketing and leads management elements of social networks. Even if you have built your profiles online, our workshop helps you move from “updating what you’re doing” to integrating social media into a comprehensive sales and relationship management strategy for modern real estate sales.

"Positional Marketing for Maximum Exposure"
 presented by Lynn Madison

How you position your listing in the MLS as well as on the Internet is critical in today's market.  This is the first contact the consumer has with the property - and with so much competition it can make the difference between a showing - or not! This session will look at the good, the bad and even the ugly for this important marketing tool. To learn more visit www.lynnmadison.com.

"The Long and Short of It: Anatomy of a Short Sale"
presented by Lynn Madison

( 3 Elective CE Hours* )

This course will look at the short sale from both sides - the seller and the buyer.  We'll analyze the transaction from the decision of the agent to take the listing through the decision of the buyer to put in an offer and what the agents - and clients - need to know - and to do - to get the job done - and get to the closing table!

*CE credits offered to eligible members with paid $99 conference registration. CE credits will be distributed via e-mail. Be sure to add IGA@indianarealtors.com to your safe senders to ensure delivery. IAR conference expenses are tax deductible; consult your tax advisor.

BarCamp Indiana

Never been to a BarCamp?  First, throw out all preconceived notions about real estate education or school, in general. These events are open, meaning there is no set schedule.  Real estate industry professionals arrive the day of, suggest discussion topics for placement on the agenda (which is kept on a large whiteboard or screen outside of the rooms) and then proceed to join whichever discussion they want.

Discussions are mostly centered on social media and technologies to grow your business. Sound scary?  If you prefer a traditional learning environment and aren’t comfortable with suggesting or starting a discussion, that’s okay.  Just watch the evolving agenda, join the discussion(s) of your choice and remember the law of two feet – if you aren’t learning something or don’t feel as though you can add to the discussion, use your two feet and walk to another room.  Or, perhaps you want to take a discussion offline (a.k.a. into the hallway or down to the coffee shop) – no problem!  It’s really that open. Do you have a BarCamp merit badge?  Great, we look forward to seeing you, too.  Come share your new and innovate ideas, not to mention network with colleagues from around the state.  And, we count on you to help those first-time BarCampers.
