Nancy Smith is a managing broker with Carpenter REALTORS®.
Through advocacy, leadership and community involvement, Nancy has shown a commitment to professionalism in her more than 30 year real estate career.
Nancy understands how important advocacy is to a successful real estate industry. Through her committee work on the state, local and national level, she is a spokesperson for the REALTOR® cause in many areas including home ownership, property taxes and economic development. She has served as an MPAC and IAR RPAC Trustee for many years. At the federal level, she serves as a Federal Political Coordinator for Congressman Luke Messer.
Both IAR and MIBOR have been the beneficiary of Smith’s leadership in various ways. She served as President in 2004, as well as various committees such as policy, bylaws, economic development, MLS, nominating and personnel. Additionally, Nancy served as the moderator for MIBOR’s leadership academy (REAL) in 2010. Her service at the state level includes the IAR Board of Directors, the IAR Executive Committee, state RPAC Trustees and the IAR Finance Committee.
Nancy has been recognized by her peers as a champion of the real estate industry through her many awards. She is a recipient of the “Bud” Tucker Community Service Award, the MIBOR Distinguished Service Award and the Dick Snyder Service Award.
Nancy places high value on strong ties within her community. She is active with many local organizations including the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, the Shelby County Youth Shelter, the Blue River Development Corporation, and Girls Club 100 Women.
Nancy is married to Mark Smith and they reside in Shelbyville. She has 4 children and 5 grandchildren.

Cheryl Stuckwish, 2016 President-elect
Cheryl Stuckwish is President of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Indiana Realty, a firm she founded in 1986 along with her husband, Lonn. The company became a Coldwell Banker affiliate in 1987, Prudential in 2011 and joined the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network in 2014. Their company has been recognized in RISMedia’s Power Broker Report as a Top 500 Power Broker in the nation.
Cheryl is a committed leader at all levels of the Realtor® organization. She has twice served as President of both the Jackson County and Crossroads Associations of Realtors®.
She has also served as Chair of both the Jackson County MLS and the SCILEX MLS. She currently serves as IAR Director representing Region 6 and is a member of the IAR Executive Committee. She is a member of the GRI Advisory Counsel. She is currently serving on the NAR Membership Policy and Board Jurisdiction Committee.
Stuckwish has been recognized by her fellow Realtors® as Realtor® of the Year for the Jackson County Association in 1990 and the Crossroads Association in 2001. She was honored by the Jackson County Association of Realtors® with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010.
Many community organizations have benefited from Cheryl’s support. She has served on boards including the American Red Cross, March of Dimes, Jackson County Community Foundation, both Jackson and Bartholomew County Industrial Development Corporations and Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce.
Cheryl is married to Lonn Stuckwish and they have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren.

Bruce Bright, 2016 Immediate Past President
Bruce Bright is an associate broker with the Carmel-based United Real Estate – Indianapolis. His more than 20-year real estate career is marked by a commitment to professionalism through education, leadership, and community involvement.
The high value Bruce places on education is evident through the many professional real estate designations and certifications he has achieved: ABR®, CRS, e-PRO®, MGRI, SRES® and SFR®. Bruce also holds degrees in business and accounting.
Bruce has served his fellow REALTORS® at the local, state, and national levels. He is a past president of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of REALTORS® (2006), moderated the board’s leadership academy for two classes (2007-08, 2008-09) and has been a member of a variety of committees including professional standards and finance – the latter of which he was a member of for more than 15 years. By virtue of his role as an officer, Bruce is also a member of the IAR Executive Committee. He is a past IAR director, a current state REALTOR® Political Action Committee trustee, a current member of the REALTORS® Defense Fund committee. Bruce is a current director of the National Association of REALTORS® and is past president of the Indiana state CRS chapter and a past Governor of the Graduate REALTOR® Institute
Bruce’s community involvement is widespread. He has served on boards including SERTOMA Club of West Indianapolis, Speedway United Methodist Church, Hendricks County Aviation Association, Community Outreach Ministries, Link Federal Credit Union, and central Indiana’s REALTOR® Foundation.
His hard work and commitment has not gone unnoticed by his colleagues. Bruce was honored as the MIBOR REALTOR® of the Year in 2007 as well as the state REALTOR® of the Year in 2008.
Bruce is married to Justine and together they reside in Brownsburg.
